How to Get Your First 1000 YouTube Subscribers In 2021 With VidIQ

So you want to get 1000 subscribers to monetise your youtube channel in 2021. Don’t sweat it. In this video, I’m gonna show you 10 ways to get 1000 Youtube subscribers within a month like I did, so make sure you watch till the end to get the full benefit because what I’m about to share with you is all interconnected.

Your YouTube subscriber count isn’t just another vanity metric. Getting more subscribers is the best way to maximize your organic reach. But you wanna get subscribers the right way, the organic way, not by buying fake subscribers, because this would kill your channel instantly. Now, hear me out.

1- As the old saying goes, “if you don’t ask you don’t get”

The simplest and easiest way to get more subs is to Ask your viewers to subscribe

Sometimes your audience just needs to be reminded. The big red subscribe button is omnipresent, but you might also want to point out the bell beside it that turns on notifications for your new videos. Simple. Let me demonstrate, guys give this video a like for the algorithm, subscribe to the channel, comment and turn on the bell notifications. No seriously, I’m just demonstrating, do it guys , do it do it…Done it, you sure…

Some people are afraid to ask for subscribers thinking that it’s too salesy or cheesy, but the fact is that if you don’t ask you don’t get, and your audience will more than happily subscribe if they can see that you provide quality content and that you’re genuinely trying to help.

2- Content is king

This is so true. You must understand that simply asking for subscribers will not do the trick if you don’t give them a reason to subscribe. Your content needs to be of high quality, compelling and unique with your own spin, don’t just copy what everyone else is doing. If you’re gonna do something that’s already out there, then make sure you do it better or with a lot of your personality injected in it, otherwise you’ll look like just another copicat, and people won’t  appreciate that.

3- Double down on content that works

When starting out and building a YouTube channel, nothing beats experience. Hopefully, by now you should have some videos uploaded, views and subscribers. So you can at least tell the videos that are working and bringing you subscribers. That’s why looking at your analytics is super important. Go to your video tab on your channel page and sort by the most popular videos. If there are any patterns in the top five or 10 videos that are telling you a certain type of content works, then make more of that content, whether it’s about a particular topic or a video style.

When you first start your YouTube channel, experiment 80% of the time, but as your channel grows, you’ll get to a stage where you are serving your audience the content they want to see 80% of the time while you can experiment with the other 20% of the content. Trick is you need to analyse the data and discover what works for your audience, you’ll start noticing the videos that bring in more subscribers then simply, do more content based on those videos.

4- Take Youtube SEO seriously

It’s time to start taking search engine optimization, or SEO, seriously on YouTube since it’s the second-largest search engine in the world, and most creators get their start on YouTube by having discoverable content through search. You must understand that google gives an edge to youtube videos over other content and ranks them high on search results over other content if they are SEO friendly. You need to do extensive keyword research into your topic to find out what people are searching for, and include those keywords in the titles description and tags, but also, make those titles intriguing to click on. And try to include keywords in the vocabulary of your video content because YouTube is watching and listening to everything you put out on the platform. I personally use VidIQ to help me with keyword research and SEO in general, and I’ve seen some great results. For example I’m ranking number one for video results on google for the term Vexels Review, and this video was made in 2019 and it’s still raking high on google search. 5- Use Resources to Encourage Subscriber Sign Ups

A way you could encourage your viewers to subscribe is by using animations on your videos just like I’m using here to make the subscribe button pop. You can get all sorts of resources from all over the internet, I personally got this from Envato Elements, you can find similar resources with my link in the description below. Give it a go and you might see an upsurge in your subscribers.

6- Use an Auto Subscribe URL

This is a neat little trick. Whenever you share your YouTube channel add a command to the end of your link, like this: When users click on it they are prompted to automatically subscribe to your channel before actually visiting your YouTube channel page. Some will click off and some will subscribe, but it gives you more odds of getting more subscriptions. You can also put this link in your description and pin it in your comments. You’ll be surprised how many more clicks and subscribers you’ll get with this trick.

7- Take Advantage of Your Watermark Branding

When viewers click on this icon, it takes them to your channel where they could subscribe after watching more of your content. It’s edited and created via the branding section of your channel customisation. Make sure the word ‘Subscribe’ is included in your icon and display it throughout the video.

8- Add a Call to Subscribe on Your Endscreen

While you can’t add subscription links in YouTube Cards during your video which sucks, you can actually add a subscribe button to your Endscreen. Have a play around with graphics and animations for a really strong call to action. Also make sure you ask for subscriptions at the end of your video to remind your audience to subscribe, and most will subscribe if they’ve enjoyed your content.

9- Be consistent

We’ve all heard this before, but I guarantee you that if you implement what I’m about to share with you, you’ll get 1000 Youtube subscribers in no time. Take Youtube seriously, have an upload schedule, once, twice or 3 times per week, whatever you can handle. Aim to upload 100 videos without letting the numbers discourage you. The idea is it’s a numbers game, as you upload more videos, you get better, you’ll start seeing which videos do well and you double down on that. Before you know it, you’ll get a video that explodes and brings you the majority of subscribers, then you go from there.

10 – Focus on trending content at the start

Trending content gets so many views in such a short period of time, and if you’re quick to upload and your content is of high quality and is discoverable with great SEO, your videos might go viral in no time. I personally use the trends alerts feature of VidIQ to identify trending ideas. You can set alerts based on different criteria, like VPH, Keywords or category, then have VidIQ email them to you straight to your inbox or you can get the results instantly. Another trick is to monitor your competitors and see what content they upload. This allows you to get a feel for what’s working for other people. If you make better content in that topic, you might piggyback on that content and drive traffic to your channel, and ultimately gain more subscribers.
